Brooke Shields’ New Look for New Show

Posted on August 20th, 2008 in Celebrity Plastic Surgery by Jet H. Ross

43-year old Brooke Shields looks as young as she did when nothing got between her and her Calvins, leading Make Me Heal to wonder if plastic surgery is at play.

Brooke Shields, Plastic Surgery

Brooke Shields has recently admitted to having mental health disorders, including post-partum depression. She has blamed another mental illness, claustrophobia, on not being a good candidate for plastic surgery.

Brooke says, “I tried, like, Botox in my forehead… I got so claustrophobic. I would get claustrophobia if I had breast implants. I’d be like, ‘Get them out, get them out.’ My husband’s very upset about that though. “It’s a very foreign, man-made object in your body… I’m also attached to my face. It’s been around in the public eye for so long.”

Maybe she hasn’t had anything put in, but she does seem to be looking a little tightened up lately.

Plastic surgeon Dr. John Di Saia tells Make Me Heal, “I recall seeing relatively recent images of her looking a little “pulled.” Face work of some sort is likely.”

Brooke may not have had any injections, but she does look like she’s had work done. She may have had the new facelift, like Madonna (See Make Me Heal’s story on Madonna’s facelift). The new way to do facelifts combines surgical tightening of the skin and underlying muscles with fat grafting where self-donated fat is added to create volume on the face and restore youthfulness. She may also use laser treatments like Active FX or Fraxel to remain youthful.

Before starring on last season’s TV show, Lipstick Jungle, Brooke had stayed out of the spotlight. Her new appearance could be so that she looks as fit and fresh as her slightly younger co-stars, Kim Raver and Lindsay Price.

Brooke looks great, but it seems like if she’s been open about her mental health issues, she could be open about her appearance as well.

Ellen DeGeneres & Portia De Rossi Wed with Plastic Surgery

Posted on August 19th, 2008 in Celebrity Plastic Surgery by Erica Hurtz

When comedienne Ellen DeGeneres wed longtime girlfriend actress Portia de Rossi over the weekend, taking advantage of California’s new marriage law that allow same-sex partners to wed, Make Me Heal wondered if plastic surgery was in the couple’s vows?

Ellen Degeneres, Portia De Rossi, Plastic Surgery

Traditionally comedians are not the best-looking people in Hollywood, just the funniest. Ellen is no exception. At 50, Ellen has signs of aging, including crow’s feet, wrinkles, and under eye bags, but they don’t detract from her natural distinctive beauty.

Plastic surgeon Dr. Anthony Youn told Make Me Heal, “Unlike many other Hollywood celebrities, Ellen’s personality creates a beauty which cannot be synthesized using makeup, fancy lighting, or even plastic surgery. That is why most people like her and her show is so popular. Looking at her strictly from a plastic surgeon’s viewpoint, however, she has crow’s feet wrinkles, which could be improved with Botox injections. The injections cost about $250 and consist of little pain and no downtime. It would help her to look as young as her stunning partner Portia De Rossi.”

In terms of more invasive plastic surgery, he also said: “Ellen DeGeneres supposedly has ears that stick out.  Good otoplasty [ear pinning] candidate? – so she could be a good candidate for ear pinning – but honestly I think maybe wrinkles and other things on the face should be corrected or may have been in anticipation of the wedding.”

Ellen Degeneres, Portia De Rossi, Plastic Surgery

With the pressure of the wedding, it is thus very likely that Ellen DeGeneres had some Botox and some quick no-downtime laser treatments like Active Fx, Fraxel or the radio frequency Thermage treatment for facial rejuvenation.

On the other hand Portia de Rossi, nee Amanda Lee Rogers, has changed more than her name. At 35, Portia has already begun trying to reverse the aging process. Her forehead never moves, although in the wedding pictures she is a smiling blushing bride. The lack of lines on her forehead indicates that Portia likely uses Botox to eliminate her wrinkles. She may also use other injectable fillers like Juvederm and Restylane to fill in wrinkles on the rest of her face. She may also have laser treatments like Fraxel and Active Fx to keep her skin look fresh and young. There is no other evidence of usual Hollywood plastic surgery procedures like a nose job or breast implants for Portia.  In the past, Portia has successfully battled eating disorder Anorexia and it looks like the golden-haired beauty is successfully battling aging as well.

Make Me Heal thinks that Ellen and Portia make a great looking couple, with or without plastic surgery and hopes that their positive example lasts longer than most heterosexual marriages in Hollywood.

Mama Mio & Rodial Promise Breast Implants In A Cream

Posted on August 18th, 2008 in Skin Care by Lisa Stanfield

Nothing beats being a mother, as the glow of a pregnant woman is probably one of the most beautiful sights to behold. But pregnancy and motherhood can also mean the onslaught of undesirable physical changes such as deflating and sagging breasts. While some women are able to get back their original breast size and shape, others cannot achieve their old perkiness and breast volume without a breast augmentation and/or breast lift. But if you’re leery of going under the knife, there is a new breed of products that promise to perk up your breast without the surgery.

Mama Mio, Boob TubeMama Mio Boob Tube is one such product that claims to be a push up bra in a cream that helps firm and lift the breasts of mothers at all phases of their lives, including pregnant, nursing, or regular moms of all ages. Light yet nourishing, Mama Mio Boob Tube has a few active ingredients including CoQ10 which is important for skin strength and elasticity, Shea Butter and Dandelion Root for restoring skin tone, Evening Primrose Oil, Avocado oil, and a rich blend of omega 3, 6, and 9 for packing a perky punch to your breasts. Mama Mio is a brand with many products for pregnant women and mothers and it is used by a slew of celebrities, including Victoria Beckham, Rachel Weisz, Kirsten Dunst, Christina Aguilera, Stella McCartney, Christy Turlington, Milla Jovovich, Emma Bunton, Jennifer Beals, and Lindsay Davenport to name a few.

Rodial Boob Job is another product that claims to increase your breast size by 8.4% (how accurate). It works by trapping fat cells in the bust and décolleté areas for an instant lifting and firming effect. Julie Slims Down With A Tummy Tuck

Posted on August 15th, 2008 in Personal Interviews, Tummy Tuck, Abdominoplasty by MakeMeHeal.com Staff

Tummy Tuck, Photos, before, After

See Julie’s Before & After Plastic Surgery Photo Album.

After the birth of her youngest son, Julie (friendname: Morgandy) began to lose all of her baby weight but could not get rid of her “tummy pouch”. After getting down to her ideal weight, she decided she might need some liposuction on her trouble spots, so she called up Dr. Linda Huang, who had performed Julie’s breast reduction previously. Since she was so happy with the results of her breast reduction, she trusted Dr. Huang’s opinion. Dr. Huang explained that her “tummy pouch” was loose skin from her pregnancies, and a tummy tuck would be necessary to get rid of that skin. After spending time lurking, and finally posting, on the Make Me Heal Message Boards and buying a stage one compression garment to help with her recovery, she finally had her abdominoplasty procedure on June 10, 2008. Though it took a few weeks of dealing with back and abdominal pain, with the help of her husband and kids she recovered with amazing results.

Julie’s words of advice to anyone considering a tummy tuck are:

Be sure to do research. Ask questions and don’t be afraid to visit more than one doctor before making your decision.”

Please join us for an interview with Julie:

Make Me Heal: When did you first have the idea to have your procedure(s)?

Julie: I have been thinking about having a tummy tuck for several years - ever since my youngest son was born. I had lost a lot of weight and my stomach was really stretched out and no matter how much I worked out that area, it didn’t budge.

Make Me Heal: What were your motivations (physical, emotional, social, etc.) behind your decision to have the procedure(s)?

Julie: My motivation for having this done was emotional for the most part. I did not like the way my stomach looked after I lost the baby weight.

Make Me Heal: How long did it take you to make a decision and was it an easy or difficult one to make?

Julie: It was a very easy decision to make. I knew I wanted a tummy tuck after I had lost the baby weight, but still had the tummy pouch. I went with the surgeon that did my breast reduction.

Make Me Heal: Did your family, friends, and any other people in your close circle give you support, opposition, or did you make this decision without considering them?

Julie: The only person who knows about this is my husband. I made the decision myself and he supported it. I feel it’s a very personal thing and did not want a lot of people to know. We told our kids that I was having surgery to take care of stomach scar tissue due to my c-section.

Make Me Heal: How did you research the procedure and come to decide on this particular procedure?

Julie: For research I looked online at various websites and came across Make Me Heal. I lurked for quite a bit - viewing other people’s photo albums and reading their stories. I had a consult with my surgeon and viewed before/after pictures in her office as well as checked out her website.

Make Me Heal: Please discuss if you used any of Make Me Heal’s resources such as the message boards, pictures library, doctor directory and doctor reviews, and any recovery and preparation products that you used.

Julie: I bought a stage 1 garment from MMH and then started posting on the message boards. There’s a wealth of information on the MMH website and the people on the boards are always very helpful and willing to offer advice and suggestions.

Make Me Heal: How did you come to choose your doctor?

Julie: I chose my doctor based on the fact that she did my breast reduction and I am beyond thrilled with the results from that. I know how the scars will look after a few years and knowing that helped me see how the tummy tuck scar will turn out. She has amazing bedside manner and is very nice.

Make Me Heal: Please discuss if you have any role in deciding the type of technique used for your surgery by the doctor, incision placements, implant brand, anesthesia type, etc.

Julie: I first went in for just some liposuction on the tummy, but she suggested the tummy tuck and explained why - extra skin etc. I didn’t really have a role in determining things, but she explained everything so well and clearly and answered my questions fully.

Make Me Heal: How did you prepare for the surgery?

Julie: For surgery prep I started taking Arnica Montana pills and Bromelain 2 weeks before. I also was sure to take a multi-vitamin. My husband took a week off work and we arranged for our kids to stay at Grandma’s for a vacation.

Make Me Heal: How were you feeling the night before the surgery and on the moments before the surgery itself?

Julie: I was pretty nervous before the surgery, but even more excited. I got to sleep late and we had to be up at 4:00 to leave by 4:30 to be at the hospital by 6:00 am. I think being a bit tired helped me not be as nervous. I prayed that things would go well and felt comforted by that.

Make Me Heal: How was the recovery process? Please discuss what side effects you experienced. What were the worse parts of the recovery? Did anyone help you during the recovery?

Julie: I stayed overnight at the hospital and went home the next day. Recovery was longer than I thought it would be. The worse parts of recovery was when I had to do anything that involved moving my torso. Sneezing and coughing were the worst, followed by trying to get up out of bed. My husband was there to help me with getting things I needed.

Make Me Heal: Please discuss the pain or discomfort you experienced during the recovery?

Julie: I had enough pain for the first 2 days to take the prescription pain medicine that I was given, but was able to switch to Advil after that. My stomach was very sore and tight and my back was sore as well from being hunched over due to the fact that I couldn’t stand up straight.

Make Me Heal: How well prepared were you for the recovery from physical, emotional, and mental respects? Did you do any research (i.e. online, books, message boards, etc.) to make your recovery smoother?

Julie: I believe I was very well prepared for the recovery from reading threads on the MMH message boards. I knew it would be tough from reading about others experiences and that helped me know that what I was experiencing was normal.

Make Me Heal: What are your top recovery tips to other patients?

Julie: Recovery tips to others - make sure you have plenty of help so you can sit or lay around and do NOTHING! If you feel better, don’t get up and start cleaning. Be sure to take a good 2 weeks or so to just lay around and recover. Make sure you have help to get medicines, cook meals and take care of kids (if you have any).

Make Me Heal: How long did you take off from work? What did you tell your co-workers about taking this time off? Did anyone notice your cosmetic procedures at work and what did you tell them if they asked about it?

Julie: Fortunately I don’t work, so that wasn’t an issue and so my husband took off a week. After that, I was better able to move around and by that time, my kids were home from Grandma’s and they were able to help me out.

Make Me Heal: How happy are you with the results?

Julie: I’m extremely happy with results. I thank God everyday for the wonderful results I have and how great a doctor Dr. Huang is.

Make Me Heal: How has your makeover impacted your life from personal, social, career, and other respects?

Julie: I think I am a bit more confident. I can wear better fitting clothes which in turn make me feel more pretty and confident.

Make Me Heal: Would you have done anything differently if you had the chance?

Julie: I’m not sure I’d have anything different done. Maybe some more lipo around the flank area, but everything is looking so well now.

Make Me Heal: Was Make Me Heal beneficial to you along your journey?

Julie: It was very helpful! The people on the message boards are extremely helpful and the wealth of information on the website is amazing. Everything is explained so well. Highly recommend this site!

Jordan Unveils Fifth Plastic Surgery

Posted on August 15th, 2008 in Celebrity Plastic Surgery by Carrie Zender

For the last few days, some people were in suspense as to whether or not English model Jordan was going to further augment or reduce her 32G-size breasts (see the story a week ago about Jordan’s Breast Surgery Mystery) .  The speculation and wait is now over, as Jordan has gotten the breast reduction that she intended to have, reducing her from a Ginormous-G cup to a likely D cup.  Jordan’s reason for the surgery was to perk up her sagging breats.  Her journey to 32G size breasts and back took five plastic surgeries.

Jordan, Breast Reduction

But Jordan’s breast reduction was not the only plastic surgery that she got while in Los Angeles this week. Seen shopping around the hip Los Angeles stores of Fred Segal and Kitson, the 30-year old model’s figure was noticeably slimmer, thanks to the disappearance of her gigantic rack.  Rounding out her new look was a new set of augmented lips which were probably done with Restylane or Juvederm injections.

Jordan may not stop at a breast reduction and lip aumgentations, as she has recently indicated that she wanted to get a vaginoplasty to rejuvenate her privates.  Los Angeles is known to be house some of the world’s best vaginal plastic surgery doctors such as Dr. David Matlock.

“I’m going to have my fanny (vagina) done, too. I want to be a virgin again. That’ll be a treat for Pete.”

Born Katie Price, Jordan had a breast reduction in December of last year, but was apparently displeased that her breasts were only reduced to a size 32F, as they remained saggy due to their massive size (read Make Me Heal’s original story on Jordan’s Breast Implants & Reduction). She traveled to Los Angeles this week to

“When I saw my boobs, I was disappointed because they looked big and I wanted them to be a lot smaller. I’m really disappointed. In fact I’m going back to the States to get them re-done. They hang too low when I’m standing up,” said Jordan.

The only question now is whether anyone will care about Jordan anymore now that her famous assets have been reduced.

Did Sienna Miller Get A Breast Augmentation For G.I. Joe Movie?

Posted on August 15th, 2008 in Celebrity Plastic Surgery by Dana Jackson

Actress Sienna Miller has revealed that she got bigger breasts for her new role in the action movie G.I. Joe. But it wasn’t the typical breast augmentation.

“[I wear a] tight black leather outfit. And much bigger boobs,” she said.

Sienna Miller, Breast Implants

But the 26-year old English actress did not get a surgical breast augmentation, as instead Sienna used “chicken cutlets” bra inserts to stuff inside her bra and make her breasts look bigger.  She got bigger breasts because the film’s director, Stephen Sommers, said that her natural breast were not big enough.

“They gave me these things that looked like chicken fillets. The director said, ‘I’m gonna be honest, I like girls with big boobs’, and I don’t have them so we made them bigger.”

Although she was offended by the director’s request, she complied with it.

“At least he’s honest. But I was mildly offended,” said Sienna Miller.

Sienna Miller plays The Baroness in G.I. Joe, which is currently in post-production and set for release for Summer 2009.

Has Lindsay Lohan’s Sis Ali Gotten Breast Implants?

Ali Lohan, Breast ImplantsIt seems like yesterday that Lindsay Lohan was under scrutiny for undergoing breast augmentation (read the full article on Lindsay Lohan’s Breast Implants). Now, the spotlight has turned to her younger sister, Ali Lohan. Ali was seen looking rather busty this week while shopping, prompting some to wonder if she got breast implants.

Okay, before we delve deepe
